1st Assignment!

Okay, all you Cedar Fort authors. I am new on the scene and have a list of about 600 authors to sift through. I don't know who's who (unless we've met) or how actively you're promoting your book(s), so this is your first assignment:

#1: Sign up to follow this blog (so you can stay up-to-date on marketing tips and true author experiences that may help you in your own marketing choices)

#2 Leave a comment with a link to your website and blog (2 separate links)

This will allow me to become familiar with you and your product in addition to maybe offering you some helpful advice. Please post links whether I've seen your site or not because your last assignment is:
#3 Pick at least 5 other authors and check out their site and blog. It's a great way to find ideas on improving your own site, and if you want to know how an author did what they did, you can contact them and ask!

Are you ready? Go!

  21. Sheralyn,

Your fresh ideas and new approach make me excited to continue promoting my book. It was released in Feb. and is doing well, but with summer and the kids home I haven't done as much marketing as I was previously. New ideas and new energy will be a great help, and my next book is well underway. Have a great one!

  25. My name is Karl Nehring, and my book is "Pearls from the Plates: Reading and Responding to the Book of Mormon." The simplest place to find out more about me would be to visit my Facebook page (which is the closest thing I have to a webpage).

It's a bit frustrating that I cannot get my picture to upload to this site, but I did get a blog started and a picture posted there.

  33. Sherelyn:
I am excited about your hiring at CF. The main reason is that since my book was published in March 2009, I have had very little contact with CF other than what I have initiated. I know that the author has to do the major portion of the work to get his book published, but I have to admit, that I was disappointed that I received no proactive coaching or guidance from CF on what I needed to do, or what they were doing to promote my book. It is refreshing that you have the knowledge, enthusiasm and willingness to assist authors like me that are just beginning on the road of publishing. I have bought my domain name but do not yet have my website built. I have talked with Bryce at CF about this matter. Maybe I am the only one who has felt frustrated, but I wanted to share my concerns, and now optimism and assistance from you.
    Thanks
    Ken Matheson
